Maricarry

The Client

Maricarry is a Portland based software company that aims to simplify the business of selling marijuana with its stock-keeping and distribution management application.

The Design

I was hired to create the Maricarry identity and establish brand guidelines for the new brand to future-proof the UI/UX development of their software and develop a brand that can stay consistent across mediums.

During the process many different logo concepts were developed and tested before landing on a final piece, refined from each iteration. Both myself and the MC team agreed we wanted to avoid the overt usage of a marijuana leaf, which has become an industry trope.

The final brand logo is a nod to both nature and technology using an agnostic leaf form contained within a box shape- meant to represent the stock keeping abilities of Maricarry and its inherent connection to nature.

“Our vision is to create a platform that can support and grow local businesses by fostering partnerships and transparency within the market.”

Brand Guideline Booklet

A comprehensive 11-page booklet was delivered with the final logo, detailing usage across all mediums. The guide covers everything the brand will need for logo placement, including white space, color usage, letter spacing, UX and UI considerations, and even misuse cases (illustrated, of course).
